Welcome to our new Careers in Sustainability section of the Resource Bank!

In the current economic climate, getting senior management approval and funding for new sustainability staff can be difficult. However, having the right staff with the right experience is vital for universities and colleges if they are to meet their increasing environmental obligations - whether they are legal or social responsibilities.

Identifying that you need extra staff is just the beginning. Taking that idea forward to interviews and recruitment can be a daunting task. It can be a complicated process, from putting together a business case for a new position and getting funding, to drawing up a job description and devising appropriate interviews - and ultimately employing the right person.
