Following on from our successful 'How to set up an environmental champion network' event hosted by Tom Yearley (University of reading), Denise Shearman (University of Reading), Jo Kemp (NUSSL) and Daniel O'Connor (Newcastle University) held at the University West of England (UWE) Conference Centre on 16 November 2011; we're pleased to offer their presentation slides as a key member-only resource.- Denise Shearman is Head of Campus Services at the University of Reading. Her presentation outlines how to generate senior buy in and strategy development.
- Tom Yearley is the Energy Officer at the University of Reading. His presentation outlines how to effectively recruit environmental champions using tips and knowledge from his own experiences at the University.
- Jo Kemp is the Green Impact Project Manager at NUS Services Ltd (NUSSL). Her presentation looks at how to grow, support and empower environmental champion networks, with specific references to the Green Impact programme.
- Daniel O'Connor is the Waste Manager at Newcastle University. His presentations focused on the importance of environmental champion networks, and using social media to support environmental champion networks. He has also provided a presentation that displays his results from the Environmental Co-ordinator questionnaire released at the end of October.
These presentations, along with the workshops organised at the event, provided delegates with the valuable insight that they would need in order to develop, manage, grow and sustain an effective environmental champion network in their institution.
