Green Impact
Green Impact is a two year project, managed by the EAUC and delivered locally by participating universities and Student’s Unions. Successfully piloted at the University of Bristol last year, Green Impact is running at 23 universities in 2009/10 and 2010/11.Catch up with Green Impace, NUS and Degrees Cooler by watching this short film, visit http://www.vimeo.com/10281158
Green Impact is one of three projects within a 2 year programme called Degrees Cooler – ‘greening universities and beyond through behaviour change’; supported by the Greener Living Fund, sponsored by Defra. The other projects within Degrees Cooler are Student Switch off and People and Planet’s Going Greener.
The programme is run by the National Union of Students, with Studentforce for Sustainability providing the resource support, and London Sustainability Exchange monitoring and evaluating the success of the programme.
Due to additional interest in Green Impact, 4 universities are also taking part in Green Impact outside of the Degrees Cooler Programme.

What is Green Impact?
An environmental accreditation scheme with an awards element designed for university departments. University staff take part each academic year and depending on the number of environmental actions they carry out, can achieve either: a working towards accreditation or Bronze, Silver or Gold award for making their workplaces greener.Green Impact empowers individuals and departments to reduce their environmental impact by encouraging, rewarding and celebrating practical environmental improvements. Green Impact challenges departments to
implement a number of easy practical actions that will help the environment.
