Comments

This year the judges decided not to award a Green Gown Award for the Procurement category. Whilst there were some positives drawn from the applications received with examples of good procurement practice, the judges felt that overall they did not yet demonstrate clear impact or benefits. The Green Gown Award Steering Group will review the Procurement category for 2013, with an aim to embed procurement across all categories.

The judges decided not to allocate a Winner for the Student Initiatives and Campaigns category. Though the finalists' projects were all valuable, successful and replicable for the sector, the judges felt that the student led element of the projects was not evidenced sufficiently to meet the strict category criteria. However, two Highly Commended awards were given.  The Green Gown Award Steering Group will review the criteria for this category for 2013 to ensure it is clear that the initiatives should be student driven and led, rather than being an institution led partnership.
